FUCHSIAS
This plant with its lovely, pendulous flowers shows off its blooms from October to April and is perfect for a pot on a stoep or balcony, or outdoors.
Planting a mature plant from your garden or propagation is recommended as growing fuchsias from seed can take some patience and is unpredictable.
Fuchsias grow well in containers but make sure the containers drain properly by placing large stones at the base of the pot.
YARROW (ACHILLEA MILLEFOLIUM)
If you want to attract butterflies, bees and other insects into your garden, yarrow is the plant for you. Its pretty foliage and flowers come in a variety of colours. Hardy yarrow can handle heat, drought and even poor soil, and can be planted any time of the year but ideally in a sunny spot. If you're planting it from seed, expect germination two to three weeks after sowing.
HYDRANGEAS
Potted hydrangeas are popular and flower throughout the summer.
