At Shanghai Fashion Week, a grand celebration was held in the expansive China State Shipbuilding Corporation Pavilion shipyard. Here, Moncler's impressively ambitious "The City of Genius" was built. The city featured 10 neighbourhoods, fringed with food carts and bursting with creative energy. This year Moncler collaborated with 10 creative luminaries, each with their own unique visions when reimagining the codes of the Italian House. The stellar crowd included superstars like Rihanna, and accordingly, the collections proved to be a mind-blowing extravaganza. Here are some of our favourites.
A$AP ROCKY
While the presence of A$AP Rocky and Rihanna may have stolen the show, his debut collection for Moncler Genius shone just as brightly. Set in a silver lounge pit surrounded by a screen projection of powdery mountain landscapes, models were dressed ready for ski season, as they stomped to the beat of the rapper's soundtrack. Protective elements of shoulder, knee, and elbow pads were exaggerated, alongside bold quilting and a memorable palette of primary colours and monochromatic tones. Rihanna was seen wearing red AWGE (A$AP Rocky's creative agency) outerwear, and the models strutted in his skiready pieces that featured the AWGE branding, as well as the name of his highly anticipated new album, Don't Be Dumb.
