Runways have seen the most notable pieces that catapulted fashion to the teeming industry it is today, but it’s also the very arena that subverts the codes it built itself. From the odd and peculiar to the loud and unusual—all materials, hues, and forms considered—how does one reinterpret garment archetypes? Designer Job Dacon teeters on the marriage of the past and the present, reviving olden details with technological advancements, such as 3D printing, graphics, and soon, augmented reality. For him, the process of reinterpretation is quite simple: collecting all vital data on what you want to do and taking it to your level and aesthetic.

One of his most outrageous silhouettes was a wide (we’re talking one-meter-per-hip kind of wide) Victorian pannier made with steel, PVC, and 3D-printed elements topped off with 12k gold leaf to exude that opulent aesthetic.
