Manufacture visits have become an integral part of my trips to Switzerland. I customarily make three to four of them during the days following SIHH, as it was called back then, and those after the now-defunct Baselworld. For each year, the choices I make would be a good mix of brands, advertisers and non-advertisers, as well as historical and younger brands, to ensure I have what I need to produce authentic content during the rest of the year.
Zenith in Le Locle was on my list for 2020 but then the pandemic took hold of the world. My chance to try again came last year, but I was unable to line up my schedule with that of the manufacture [as noted in the introduction, we can only visit when the manufacture accepts guests, although Zenith is a special one in this regard – Ed]. Eventually, I was able to make my long-overdue visit to the brand with the star in April this year, following the conclusion of Watches and Wonders Geneva. So when I was asked by the Singapore team if I could help share a few words about the experience, I felt I had enough to put together a useful read for would-be visitors among our readers.
