Ajay: “Had an insight today while talking to someone. My purpose in life is to stop thinking. My secondary purpose in life is to help others stop thinking. Just saying this brought clarity about how I must spend my time, energy, and resources, and design my life.
Just sharing.”
Gaurav: “A propos this, how can the soul have a purpose? Isn’t it the mind again?”
Ajay: “The purpose of each individual depends on his swabhava (nature). The common purpose of all humans is to realise Being.”
Gaurav: “Also, as you had pointed out, we can’t really change ourselves. So isn’t it our purpose to bring about change in us?”
Ajay: “Everything is part of the happening. Even the desire and willingness to change are part of the happening.”
Gaurav: “Even I am desiring to stop thinking. Is this the reason we meet?”
Ajay: “Eventually, all humans want freedom from thoughts. Whether they realise it or not.”
What helps and inspires us on that journey is the play of karma.
Gaurav: “How do we clear or exhaust our past karma?”
Ajay: “Some of it will get exhausted through yog (practising awareness), and some of it will get exhausted through bhog (indulging in desires).”
Gaurav: “Is there a way to quicken the process?”
