Years back at the end of a job interview, I was asked about health. I replied, "Sir, health is good, I cleared the medical for the last job easily and I don't think it should be a problem now too." Of course, I didn't get the job as it was a healthcare company and my answer was vague. But today if someone asks me, 'what is health?' I can say that health is an outcome of simple Yogic techniques followed regularly. The WHO states: "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity". Health is a universal gift we all are blessed with. But then why do some take care and some neglect it only to regret it later?
Some people are health enthusiasts who don't take health for granted. They follow healthy routines and are passionate about their fitness and take pride in being fit and healthy. They make time to run marathons, triathlons, treks, etc. But after the event, many are unable to maintain that fitness level. Some give excuses of diseases, lack of time. For some, the enthusiasm diminishes over time.
