THE COLLABORATION between the house of Mugler and H&M has got to be the most highly anticipated partnership in modern fashion history. And the reasons are clear; it's a marriage between a luxury brand known for its daring and fashion-forward persona and a multinational clothing brand beloved for its swift trendsetting apparel.
In this star-crossed partnership, the Mugler H&M series showcased its own rendition of bold recreations that embodied some of Mugler's iconic motifs that set the stage for their trailblazing character.
Taking charge of the collection's creative direction is Mugler's very own creative director, Casey Callawader. With his ingenious talent and familiarity with the designer brand's proud history, he led the project and created the Mugler H&M series to mirror some of the brand's most iconic motifs and shapes in a perspective that would align with H&M.
The pieces Cadwallader has created with H&M are both a dynamic showcase of the house's current aesthetic and pay homage to its acclaimed past. It was clear that each design was intentionally made to embrace inclusivity in the world of fashion, but another aspect was obvious, which is the collection's intention to appeal to the Gen Z market.
