One of the most exciting aspects of this year's festival was its theme, "Young Filmmakers-The Future is Now." This new focus brought forward the newly introduced award category for "Best Debut Director of Indian Feature Film," aimed at celebrating fresh voices in the industry. The category recognized first-time filmmakers from across India, including films in languages such as Manipuri, Kannada, and Marathi, encouraging future generations to pursue their filmmaking dreams.
Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award
Another significant highlight of IFFI 2024 was the prestigious Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to renowned Australian director Philip Noyce.
