With the reality of his life in America having finally sunk in for the Duke of Sussex, rumours are swirling that the exiled royal is yearning for his old life back.

New Idea hears that Prince Harry longs to be closer to his UK family, particularly amid the Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnosis.

“Seeing Kate back on the balcony at Trooping the Colour was incredibly emotional for Harry,” says our source. “He was so relieved.”

But, our insider adds, Kate’s recent statement where she admitted that she is “not out of the woods yet”, hit Harry, 39, hard. Now, he wants to make amends with the sister-in-law he was once so close to.

But given everything that has transpired between their families, the source says it’s unlikely that the Prince of Wales or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex would welcome Harry calling Kate, 42. So he is planning on putting pen to paper instead.
