I see someone with long COVID symptoms most weeks. It’s a terribly frustrating condition for my patients and I often feel so helpless. They want answers and I have so few.

You might hear it called post COVID syndrome, long COVID, long-haul COVID, post-acute COVID-19, post-acute sequelae of SARS CoV-2 infection (PASC), long-term effects of COVID, or chronic COVID.

One of the problems is that we still don’t agree on exactly what it is or how to define it. Everyone has slightly different symptoms.

We just know there’s no test, so it seems to rely on you reporting your symptoms to a doctor for a diagnosis. These symptoms start at or just after a COVID infection.
