I’d never been to Bangkok before, so when Longines invited me over for a peek at the brand’s highly anticipated releases for the year, you could say I had two reasons to be excited. I then got a third, when I was told I’d be sitting down with Matthias Breschan, CEO of Longines, who despite his packed agenda, graciously spared a few moments to answer any and all questions I had about the brand.
It was the morning after the presentation that, in true Longines style, saw us ferried across by boat and then sipping cocktails on a rooftop overlooking the Bangkok skyline. Matthias was up early and receiving us one by one for a personalised tête-à-tête. I asked if he’s had a chance to look at the questions I’d sent beforehand, and he says he’d given it a brief once-over but that was about it. In short, I’d be getting my answers off the cuff, just how I like them.
