Bar owner BAI JIAWEI envisions his year-end party filled with colourful spirits.

A kaleidoscopic explosion of colours, where abstract hues take on physical forms by way of commonly associated libations.

Neon green becomes a refreshing mojito, while deep red is represented by a classic whisky sour.

That's the kind of party bar owner Bai Jiawei would like to throw, if only he can tear himself away from the running of his buzzy cafe-meets-watering hole Stay Gold Flamingo (No. 63 on the Asia's 50 Best Bars list for 2024) and White Shades, his newer multi-concept cocktail bar progressing vertically upwards four floors of a Boon Tat Street shophouse.

At his new playground, he makes his love for colours known. The first level, which specialises in the Japanese art of highballs, comes plastered in neon signs and vibrant hues; the second, leaning cosy with plush seats and letting colourful drinks like the Fresh Pink - tequila made pretty with a splash of pink sparkling coconut water - do the talking; and the fourth-level rooftop, where a floral photo wall dominates.
