The Lucky Seven Of Brand Building
Taare Zameen Par|February 2024
A lot of entrepreneurs hit a road block when it comes to a brand building exercise for their company or product etc. Just realize what you do when you go to the market to buy a product of your choice. You ask questions, you ask details, you ask how good it is, you ask what could be better, and you ask if there is any other option available. When you get to know all such details, you gather the insights and then arrive at the decision whether or not to buy the product you had in mind, of the brand you had in mind. So how do you get all these answers from dealers or retailers or from any other Marketing Communication material that you come across, those which has been sent or created by any brand? It is very simple.

The Lucky Seven Of Brand Building

Sudarshan Ramakrishna Chetlur sheds light on this - probably one of the most important ones you would have ever come across and probably the most critical one. Read on...

Brand It To Grand It

You get the information about the product that you ask for because somebody has worked towards answering the seven most important questions that make any brand visible. These questions are catalysers for brand building. These are the lucky 7 of brand building that every business requires. It doesn't matter whether it's a product or a company or a service or a corporate image campaign or CSR campaign, or even internal branding. These are the seven questions that show the way on how to build the brand. Here's how you do it.

Q1. What Do You Do?

Believe me, it is very difficult to answer this question since a lot of people get into philosophies and therefore find it difficult to answer. Don't get into irrelevant details.

It's very simple. The answer to this question lies in the business you do. If you are an advertising company, then you say you are an advertising company. If you are a company manufacturing pistons, say you are a company manufacturing pistons. It's a one line answer and not a detail.

Q2. How Do You Do It?

Now this is where it gets a little bit complex. It is believe that only 70% of the companies worldwide are able to answer this processes, question. It is not about it is not about details; it is about specifics. For example you have a team, departments, sales & marketing and you have an office location, a website and marcom through which you do business.

Q3. Why Are You Doing It?
