Picture this: you’re the host of a much-awaited dinner party. Everything seems to be going smoothly. The turkey is in the oven, the salad is waiting to be tossed, the canapés are in the— wait, why aren’t the canapés in the fridge? You rush to put the now-smudged cream cheese-based bites in the fridge, when you realise smoke is emerging from the oven. Rushing to remove the charred bird, you realise you’ve forgotten the dessert. Suddenly, the doorbell rings. Who could it be? Guests aren’t expected until seven, and it’s only — you glance at the clock and realise it’s five past seven. Where has the time gone?
