When Kayley was jilted, she decided to continue her big day alone

LEFT AT THE ALTAR So I maried myself!

Walking up to the bar, I ordered a round of shots for me and the girls. ‘Cheers!’ we chorused. It was November 2018, and mates and I were spending a bar tab I’d won the week before at a karaoke competition. I’d belted out ‘Man! I feel like a woman’ by Shania Twain.

At 23, I was the only single one but it didn’t faze me.

A few hours later, I spotted a bloke watching footy in the bar – he looked like Prince Charming! Making my way over, I made a comment about the match.

‘I’m Kallum with a K,’ he introduced himself.

‘And I’m Kayley with a K!’ I beamed back.

We hit it off, dancing and flirting all night long – and he came back to mine.

I thought it was a fling, but we went for brekkie the next day and had a blast.

Kallum lived a four-hour drive away, but we decided to start dating anyway.

Falling in love, he met my friends and family after a month. ‘He’s great, love,’ my parents Dee and Brian smiled.

Chatting to Mum one day, I told her, ‘This is the man I want to marry.’

I was on cloud nine.

Both movie buffs, Kallum and I spent our days watching fi lms together.

‘I’ve never seen someone make you laugh so much,’ my sister Katie said.

Four months later, Kallum moved in with me and Katie.

One day, in August 2020, Kallum and I went for a stroll along the beach.

As it started to rain, we ran back to the car, where there was a box on my seat.
