An emergency response handler's life is changed forever by a tricky call in this three-part thriller.

Fast and curious

THE CONTROL ROOM, Rialto Channel, Sunday, March 5, 8.30 pm

Let's be clear here: The Control Room is not a medical drama or an accident and emergency show. Although our first sight of its protagonist Gabe (Iain De Caestecker, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) finds him handling a tricky emergency call to a Glasgow ambulance service with skill and sensitivity, that's not really what the story's about.

The plot commences with a subsequent call, from a woman who has been a witness to a possible murder - or is she the murderer herself? And what's her connection to a clearly rattled Gabe? Whether you like what happens next may depend on your taste for chaos, cliffhangers, flashbacks and psychodrama.

"What I really like about The Control Room is that it's a mishmash of different genres," says De Caestecker.
