India must probably be the only country in the world whose ancient, glorious history has been obfuscated and disillusioned in a fractured, misleading manner. Different powers have done this in different eras for their own different reasons. However since their interests overlapped with one an other, these misleading narratives have continued unabated for the last 200 years. Some wholly false and imaginary accounts without a shred of evidence have come to be established as ‘history’. On the other hand, actual events that have hundreds of proofs are brazenly denied as “never having occurred”.

Moreover, anyone calling out the lies and attempting to tell the truth is branded retrogressive or communal and is forced out of intellectual circles so that his her opinion is suppressed and never comes before the world. Undaunted by this intellectual oppression, some learned scholars have done meticulous research in order to place the true history of India before the world. History writing with the intention of misleading people has proved very harmful for the nation; many generations of Indians have grown up with an inferiority complex and a defeatist mentality. This is why the enquiry conducted by these scholars is priceless. Asatyameva Jayate is a book by Abhijit Joag which has been orchestrated with a view to apprising the readers of how India's history, right from the Vedic era through to the Independence Movement has been mis-represented.
