Two promotions in three seasons under Gill makes it four in the 10 past years for the club, propelling Darlo from West Midlands (Regional) League Division Two to a first ever shot at Step 4.
But while many in that position might succumb to the urge to splash out, there will be no silly season in these parts.
Gill told The NLP: “There is no point hiding from how big the step up is. We are buzzing for the challenge and the work on the infrastructure from people behind the scenes has been unbelievable to witness.
“On the pitch things have been very good but we have done very little recruitment wise so far. That is not for a want of trying, we are just not in a position to compete financially with anyone in this league at the moment.
