RUSS PENN says he can already feel the pulling power of Halesowen Town - and he wants the Yeltz to keep looking up.

The 38-year-old arrived at the Southern Premier Central outfit in March having spent the first part of the season managing Kidderminster Harriers in the National League.

Penn knows all about their potential as one of NonLeague's most famous names.

And while he's been learning about the intricacies of Step 3 management, he couldn't be happier to be leading the club where his dad Mark won the FA Vase twice.

"It's a different structure for me," Penn told The NLP.

"I am educating myself and getting educated. I still know it because I have a lot of mates who have played at the level and this is the level I am at.

"It's strange talking contracts with players but, realistically, it's all about gentlemen's agreements because you can't really sign anyone until July 1 unlike at fulltime clubs like Kiddy when you get them signed on the dotted line the next day.
