• Heavy rains disrupt life across Gujarat • Seven dead, death toll likely to rise • About 24,000 people relocated to safety • 6 columns of Army called in for rescue in Dwarka, Anand, Vadodara, Kheda, Morbi and Rajkot; Navy, Air Force also deployed • IMD predicts heavy rains for five days

Following widespread rains in the state, six Army columns were deployed for relief and rescue operations.

Additionally, the Navy and Coast Guard have joined in the rescue and relief efforts.

In the state, seven people have died due to wall collapses, drowning, and falling trees caused by the heavy rains.

There are 14 NDRF platoons and 22 SDRF platoons currently supporting disaster management efforts. The 6 Army columns have been deployed to Dwarka, Anand,

Vadodara, Kheda, Morbi, and Rajkot districts for rescue and relief efforts. Most vulnerable people in the Panchmahal district have been relocated.

The Air Force has helped with rescue operations in Vadodara and Jamnagar.
