The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended names of three advocates for appointment as judges of the High Court of Gujarat. The three are Sanjeev Jayendra Thaker, Deeptendra Narayan Ray (DN Ray) and Maulik Jitendra Shelat.
"On 22 December 2023, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Gujarat in consultation with her two senior-most colleagues recommended the names of the above advocates for appointment as Judges of that High Court," stated the resolution issued by the collegium of the Supreme Court, comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Sanjiv Khanna and BR Gavai.
