A RED LETTER DAY FOR RUBEN

NOW Ruben Amorim truly knows what it is like to manage Manchester United.

Amorim said United would have to suffer for a while as the players adapt to his new methods and style, and this nerve-shredding affair endorsed that.

Sunday’s draw at Ipswich, his first game in charge, was a mundane affair, but this encounter provided Amorim with the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with managing United.

Joy at an early goal, despair at conceding twice in quick succession, then relief at going ahead again, with United holding out for the win, despite missing chances.

Amorim was greeted with a welcome banner from United fans as he walked out for his first game at Old Trafford, and he quickly learned United always seem to do things the hard way.

The Portuguese promised to rotate his squad and was true to his word, making six changes to the starting line-up that drew 1-1 at Ipswich.
