Boss still won't alter course despite new low on Monday
Dave Craven

RUBEN AMORIM admits the lack of confidence is palpable among his crisis-torn Manchester United players but that he won't change his tactics.

After just 38 days, with only seven points won and nine goals scored in his first eight Premier League games as United manager, the Portuguese's tenure at Old Trafford is already on the rocks.

United are rapidly being dragged into an unthinkable relegation battle.

Monday night's feeble 2-0 home loss to Newcastle was their worst display yet. Or at least they hope SO.

Having become the first United team to lose three successive home league games since 1979, it is no surprise confidence is at an alltime low.

Amorim admitted: "Yes, and you can feel it every single day.

That is a bad thing, of course, but it's also a good thing that they're feeling like this.

"We have to understand we're in a very difficult moment. It's really hard for them to have these losses.
