Air ambulance paramedics, police, and the fire brigade attended but the boy died at the scene.
The death is being treated as unexpected, no arrests have been made and further inquiries are under way.
A neighbour who called the emergency services said the boy's father was devastated.
Ansert Davis said: "He's rolling on the floor, saying about his son. I just ran down and tried to speak to the dad but he's inconsolable."
