The hopefuls are aged 19 to 71, with the youngest being teenager Sumayah who is indulging her sweet tooth before going on to study dentistry. Sumayah, below, feared she had ruined her chance in the audition, explaining: "Despite my disastrous audition, I had this inexplicable feeling I would get into the tent not because I was confident in myself but more a sense of impending fear."
The teenager, from Lancashire, added: "I still can't believe I got in. I missed the phone call five times so I was the last baker notified." Sumayah will be joined in the famous big white tent by Hazel, 71, right.
