EMMA RADUCANU wants to show the world she is “happy” and in a “good place” on her Wimbledon return.
And the 2021 US Open winner revealed she is finally able to see her teenage triumph in New York as “insane”, instead of as a “negative”. Now 21, Raducanu said: “I’m just owning it more”.
The world No.168 missed last year’s Wimbledon after operations on both wrists and an ankle.
It was part of the struggles of adapting to full-time life on the WTA Tour, which has been dogged by injuries, loss of form and splits with coaches. She has been seen more in ads for her sponsors than in the latter stages of tournaments.
Raducanu attracted further controversy by deciding not to enter qualifying for the French Open last month or play at the Olympics. At times over the past three years she has looked a tortured soul.
