ANDY Murray sobbed with joy last night after ensuring his Olympic dreams and tennis career - lived on with another emotional victory.
Sir Andy, 37, now has at least one more match before he can hang up his racquet, after he and doubles partner Dan Evans powered into the quarter-finals in Paris.
There were dramatic scenes at Roland Garros as the duo fought off two match points against them to beat Belgian pair Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen in a 11-9 third set tie-break.
Ex-British number one Annabel Croft told the BBC: "I literally cannot believe what we have seen.
"The drama that we have seen, the rollercoaster we have been on during that match, two hours and four minutes." Moments earlier there was jubilation in the pool as Team GB defended their men's 4x200m freestyle relay title after success at Tokyo 2020.
Dream
Duncan Scott, James Guy, Tom Dean and Matt Richards reunited to win GB's fourth Paris gold - the first time a British relay quartet have retained an Olympic title.
Hotshot Olympic debutant Nathan Hales shed tears as he led yesterday's medal charge-setting a new Games record in the men's trap shooting final.
The 28-year-old blasted 48 shots out of 50 to break the previous record of 43. The feat secured Team GB's first men's trap gold since 1968 and first shooting gold since London 2012.
