In January Leanne Ekland's son Max Dixon, 16, and best friend Mason Rist, 15, were fatally knifed as they popped out to buy a pizza.
Since then Leanne and friend Carly Kingdon have helped launch the Daily Express "Lessons To Save Lives" campaign. It is urging bleed kit training in schools and lessons on the trauma caused by knife crime.
Loss
Leanne, 45, and Carly, 35, also launched the Max Dixon Foundation to raise cash for bleed kits in sports clubs, schools and parks and on public transport. Packaged by Somersetbased Reflex Medical, kits were unveiled at the annual fun day for Park Knowle, the football club whose youth side sports-mad Max captained.
