The Serb revealed he took painkillers for a knee injury to reach his 59th Grand Slam quarter-final with a backs-to-the-wall win against No.23 seed Francisco Cerundolo, below and then cast doubt on being able to keep going.
"I don't know if I will be able to step on the court to play," he said.
The world No.1 only finished his five-set victory against Lorenzo Musetti at 3.08am on Sunday in another marathon effort.
