JIMMY ANDERSON yesterday took seven wickets in a sensational performance for Lancashire just eight days before his final Test match.
Anderson, 42 at the end of the month, showed once more that age is no barrier to his heroics with figures of 6-19 before lunch at Southport as he tore apart the Nottingham batters.
The paceman, playing his first Championship match in more than a year, warmed up for his final Test, against the West Indies at Lord's, with figures of 7-35 the best in this season's Championship.
Nottinghamshire were skittled for 126 in reply to Lancashire's first-innings total of 353-9 declared and then closed on 84-2 in the Division One match.
