Experienced hiker Tom Parry, 49, and his son Richie, from Alsager in Cheshire, vanished in poor weather in Glencoe while on holiday.
The pair had been due to return home on Wednesday but yesterday Police Scotland said they had recovered two bodies.
At the family home, devastated Gemma Parry said: "I'm doing the best I can. I'm heartbroken."
A report into the double tragedy will be submitted to the Scottish Procurator Fiscal.
Officers found Mr Parry's vehicle at the Three Sisters car park in Glencoe where they stopped on Tuesday.
