LIVERPOOL last night rejected an approach from Real Madrid to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold this month.
The Merseysiders have no interest in selling the England defender, despite Alexander-Arnold being out of contract this summer and yet to sign a new deal.
The discussions did not get as far as a transfer fee, as the Reds made it clear they want to keep him while the club focus on winning the Premier League and Champions League. The 26-year-old has given Liverpool no indication he wants to go to European champions Real, even though reports in Spain suggest he has given Los Blancos the nod that he is ready to move there.
The right-back has been in talks with his boyhood club for several months about a new Anfield contract.
There remains hope he will extend his stay at Liverpool.
But Real are upping their interest in Alexander-Arnold.
