GARETH SOUTHGATE believes he has the leaders he needs to save England's fading dreams of winning Euro 2024.
England fans were left numb by the woeful 1-1 draw against Denmark in Frankfurt on Thursday night, with Southgate and his underperforming stars facing a barrage of criticism.
Southgate hauled off captain Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden and Trent Alexander-Arnold, and was then ridiculed for claiming he has struggled replace forgotten man Kalvin Phillips in midfield.
The pressure is mounting on England to raise their game and justify justify their tag of pre-tournament favourites. Southgate subjected his flops to a video nasty of the lame performance against the Danes yesterday, as he picked through the wreckage of a game England were lucky not to lose.
He is expected to make several changes for the final Group C clash with Slovenia in Cologne on Tuesday. One of these will be abandoning the plan to use Alexander-Arnold midfield, while in there are growing calls for Chelsea forward Cole Palmer to start.
