THOUSANDS of farmers descended on Westminster again yesterday to protest against Labour's inheritance tax raid with many bringing their tractors for a slow drive around.

It was further proof the backlash against the Government is not abating over its plans to limit inheritance tax relief for farms to the first £1million of agricultural and business property - leaving families with a huge debt.

The Daily Express's Britain's Family Farms crusade is demanding a U-turn on the decision announced in the Budget.

Save The protest came as National Farmers' Union president, Tom Bradshaw, broke down in tears as he told MPs about the risks the tax changes pose, including farmers taking their lives.

He was explaining that their concerns were about custodianship of the countryside and the wider lifestyle they want to pass on their children when he had to pause as he said: "It's not money, this is a lifetime of work, it's the heritage..."
