WE walked into the Three Lions pub in Milwaukee hoping to talk about the Donald Trump shooting.

But the staff and drinkers had something else to discuss - England boss Gareth Southgate's resignation.

The Republican National Convention is happening five miles down the road but most locals we spoke to wished it were a million miles away.

Pollsters believe the assassination attempt on Trump who again appeared at the RNC on Tuesday - has improved his election chances, because swing voters will feel sorry for him.

But sympathy for Trump is in short supply amongst the locals of this staunchly Democrat area.

Three Lions barman Pete Lund, 39, insisted: "My feelings for him haven't changed one bit.
