ON the day Yorkshire dropped the Ashes, the mood was eeh bah glum as another spate of catches went down.

So far in this series, England have fumbled 14 times, not to mention two wickets ruled out by no-balls.

At least watching England boss Gareth Southgate could enjoy fivestar Mark Wood's 96.5mph ain fast show at Headingley.

But for all the pantomime booing from the Western Terrace, Australia came up smelling of roses instead of the fertiliser they spread at Lord's.

Despite losing their last six wickets for 23 runs in 51 balls, they must think they hit the jackpot to reach 263 all out.

The four chances Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root grassed between them cost England 159 runs. Sorry, fellas, but this can't go on. Bazball ain't worth the beachballs being tossed around in the cheap seats if catches aren't going to stick.
