'China spy' ex-Marine found dead in a park

Immigration officer was due to face charges at Old Bailey this Friday

A FORMER Royal Marine accused of spying on Britain for Hong Kong has been discovered dead in a park.

Matthew Trickett, 37, was also charged with foreign interference and had appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court with two other defendants last week.

Police said Trickett's body was found in Grenfell Park in his hometown of Maidenhead, Berkshire, at around 5.15pm on Sunday after a report from a member of the public.

His death is being treated as unexplained and officers are investigating. A cordon was last night in place at the park, plus a forensics tent.
