England march on to quarter-finals as boss Carsley insists: We can get better

LEE CARSLEY says there’s more to come from his England Under-21 team after Anthony Gordon and Emile Smith Rowe booked a quarter-final spot.

In front of England boss Gareth Southgate, Carsley's Young Lions guaranteed top spot in Group C - with a game to spare after beating Israel to follow up the opening win over Czech Republic.

But Carsley insists his young guns can go up a level after demanding much more in Georgia.

He said: "The result was really important for us. We spoke beforehand about making sure we performed and we spoke about mentality and having that ability to find a way to win. It was a good performance but there is a lot more to come from this team. They've got other levels to go to. We have to be better."
