JOSH KERR, wearing Jake Wightman's lucky vest, kept a promise to his close pal in Budapest last night.
With reigning 1500m world king Wightman out injured and unable to defend the title he won so sensationally a year ago, Kerr vowed to do the job for him.
On a sweltering night by the Danube he delivered again unleashing the Power of Scotland on Norway's Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen to brilliantly clinch the gold medal in a season's best time of 3mins 29.38secs.
"When you're the underdog you go out and take what's yours, you're not handed anything," said Kerr. "For me it was go in there, take what's mine."
