Heartbreak at 'probe' funeral home

A GRANDMOTHER'S coffin was mouldy and spattered with blood at a funeral home under investigation, her grandson claims.

Jessie Stockdale, 89, died in November last year and Tristan Essex was horrified by the condition both of Jessie and her coffin, which he says was also water damaged.

Tristan, 24, said: "My heart stopped. She looked so poorly treated."

Jessie's relatives had arranged her funeral with Legacy Independent Funeral Directors in Hull, East Yorks.

After Humberside Police were told about fears for the care of the deceased they removed 35 bodies and ashes from the firm in March.
