Judy Murray knows exactly how she will feel when she takes her place in the players' box to watch her sons compete at Wimbledon.
Eldest Jamie, former doubles Nol, is kicking off his campaign in SW19 today, while Andy's dreams of a third Wimbledon singles title start tomorrow.
"I get terribly nervous," Judy confesses. "I tend to not watch on TV and I don't go so often now. If you go to a grand slam, you'll be there a week before the tournament to prepare. And if they get to the end of a grand slam, you're there for three weeks. It's emotionally exhausting.
"I tell people it's like severe nausea and a series of mini-heart attacks going on at the same time. I'm honestly surprised I'm still alive after what they've put me through after all these years."
These days, Judy, 63, who lives in Perthshire, Central Scotland, only watches the matches Andy, 36, and Jamie, 37, are playing in. "I go in, watch the match and leave. I don't hang around and meet friends," she says,
And she admits she is looking forward to the day she can go to Wimbledon and her boys are no longer competing.
"It's been our life for such a long time but it would be nice to have the peace and not the worry over how well they are doing, whether they are injured, just to have a bit more of a normal life.
