Doctor says his own nephew is now a hostage

AN Israeli doctor who helped save the life of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has revealed his own nephew is now one of the hostages held captive in Gaza.

Dr Yuval Bitton was part of a medical team who saved Sinwar when he had surgery to remove a brain tumour while he was a prisoner in an Israeli jail.

Now Dr Bitton has told how his nephew Tamir Adar was abducted during the October 7 atrocities, when Hamas killed 1,200 people.

Dr Bitton said: "The fact that we saved his life cost hundreds of children and old people their lives.

"We later discovered that my nephew is now in Gaza, a captive of the man whose life we saved.

Tamir, 38, who has two young children, was captured from a kibbutz with his gran Yaffa Adar, 85, who was famously pictured being taken away in a buggy.

Since October 7, the Israeli retaliation has cost the lives of more than 10,000 people in Gaza.
