WES Streeting has pledged to open talks with junior doctors over pay immediately if Labour win the election.

And striking medics confirmed they are ready to negotiate with Labour, raising hopes that the 20-month feud with the stubborn Tories could be over.

Doctors yesterday began their 11th walkout, and many laid into No10's disastrous NHS record.

Shadow Health Secretary Mr Streeting said: "There weren't any national NHS strikes in 13 years of the last Labour government.

"If we win next week, I will call the BMA junior doctors committee on day one and set up negotiations as a matter of urgency. Patients can't afford this chaos to continue."
