FOOTBALL fans and human rights campaigners have reacted with fury after Saudi Arabia was named as host of the 2034 World Cup.
Governing body Fifa handed the tournament to the Gulf state during its virtual congress in Zurich, with the FA endorsing the submission.
The Football Supporters' Association, which represents 600,000 fans across the UK, blasted the decision.
The group said in a statement: "Once again supporters have very serious misgivings about how these World Cups were awarded and questions around the supporter experience, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
