England coach hits back at Aussie jibes

MATTHEW MOTT is putting Josh Hazlewood's suggestion that England's exit from the T20 World Cup would be in Australia's "best interests" down to nothing more than a little bit of mischief.

Hazlewood put the boot in after the Aussies effectively sealed qualification for the Super 8s with victory over Namibia, claiming he would be keen to nudge Jos Buttler's England out of the event by any means necessary.

He floated the idea that Australia could "knock it around and drag it out" in the final group match against Scotland to boost their opponents' net run-rate - and help England towards the exit in the process.
