IT WAS another hard luck story for Mikel Arteta.

And now Arsenal's season feels like it is in serious danger of unravelling after a second defeat in the space of five days.

They were unlucky in the San Siro as they found themselves on the wrong end of two big penalty decisions and their performance deserved more.

But there was still no escaping that Arsenal look jaded and they are lacking the sharpness they had earlier in the season.

The Gunners left themselves seven points behind in the Premier League title race after losing at Newcastle on Saturday and this was their first defeat in the Champions League.

Arteta wanted a big reaction against Inter Milan to get their form back on track but his players just could not find it even in one of European football's most iconic stadiums.
