THE King and Queen yesterday began the visit to Samoa they said they were so eagerly anticipating.
Charles and Camilla arrived on the Pacific island following their six-day tour of nearby Australia.
Soon after boarding a Royal Australian Air Force plane in Sydney yesterday morning, the royals posted the message: "As we head towards [capital city] Apia, we can't wait to visit Samoa for the first time together and to experience the warmth of ancient traditions with your remarkable people."
They added the Samoan for "Looking forward to meeting the Samoan people".
