Skipper Davies kick-starts easy win for Wales

BEN DAVIES and the Red Dragons rose to the occasion as the boys from the Rock bit off more than they could chew.

The Spurs defender was skipper for the night in Aaron Ramsey's absence and led from the front as Rob Page's rookies took to the air to sink their low-ranked opponents.

A comfortable victory was just reward for Wales' head coach who handed first starts to four youngsters - and the quartet all turned in promising performances.

However, it was one of his older stagers captain Davies - who exposed Gibraltar's soft underbelly by opening the floodgates with a close-range header in the first half.

And once the deadlock was broken, the Gibraltar net bulged with regularity as Wales cashed in.

Bournemouth striker Kieffer Moore, in particular, enjoyed himself, nodding home a couple as Page's side warmed up for Sunday's Euro qualifier with Croatia in fine fashion.
