Friend's desperate bid to save family

A THIRD child has died after a blaze ripped through a family home.

The mother of the three victims remains in hospital under sedation, while a fourth child is still receiving treatment, a friend of the family said.

One child, an eight-year-old boy, was found dead at the scene on Saturday, while another died later that night.

Yesterday, a third child was confirmed to have died in hospital.

Neighbour and friend Rida Nawaz, 28, broke a downstairs window of the house with her son's hoverboard as neighbours desperately tried to rescue the family.

"The mother is still asleep," Rida said.
