THE Prince and Princess of Wales praised England's defeated Lions as dejected fans flew back to the UK.
William and Kate issued a direct message to Gareth Southgate's side after the final ended in a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Spain.
They said: "England, your teamwork, grit and determination were an inspiration to all of us."
Kate shared a photo of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis watching Sunday's final.
Charlotte, nine, and Louis, six, wore England shirts with their names and ages on the back.
Meanwhile, William, President of the FA, and eldest son George, 10, witnessed every nervejangling moment of the game inside Berlin's Olympic Stadium.
